PCCIHRDF Explores Partnership with DA-TAG for improvement of Agri-related skills
Last June 8, 2022, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Human Resources Development Foundation (PCCI HRDF) met with the Department of Agriculture - Technical Advisory Group (DA-TAG) experts to discuss a partnership engagement in capacitating the Fruits and Vegetables Processing Sector Skills Council (F&VP SCC). The meeting was held at the Philippine Association of Agriculturists (PAA) office in Los BaƱos, Laguna.
The F&VP SSC is a part of the three councils being formed under A Future That Works (AFW), a program by the Australia Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and implemented by the Philippines Business for Education (PBEd). They are composed of fruits and vegetables processing associations belonging to different regions of the Philippines, with the aim of becoming the channel to support the emerging and vulnerable F&VP SMEs with skills development, growth, and productivity leading to improvement of the sector.
Through the DA-TAG experts, an agreement between the PCCI HRDF and the PAA was concluded to proceed with the future engagement in capacitating the F&VP SSC. The PAA is a Civil Society Organization accredited by the Department of Agriculture; it is the only Accredited Integrated Professional Organization (AIPO) of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) for licensed agriculturists in the Philippines. They are set to assist the PCCI HRDF in developing the sector roadmap for the F&VP SCC.
